Hi there, I’m Lora!
I'm a North Carolina native and the owner and Master Trainer here at Winnabow K9. I completed my bachelor's degree in Communication Studies at UNC Wilmington and spent six years as a local law enforcement officer in the Wilmington area.
Though I loved being in law enforcement, I needed a change.
In 2021, I began my internship with another trainer to learn methods and gain hands-on experience. I trained with that company for a short time before branching out on my own, and Winnabow K9 was born in 2022. I've been training dogs and making a difference in dog owners’ lives ever since.
I absolutely love what I do.
My favorite part of my job is when a dog returns home from training, and the owner says, "that's a different dog,” with joy and gratitude in their heart. That’s the cherry on top!
Change is always the goal! I enjoy working with all types of dogs, but behavioral cases hold a special place for me because they challenge me to think outside the box and grow as a trainer, and help you find the best solution for your dog.
Hi, I’m Morgan!
I am a trainer here at Winnabow K9.
I grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Fitchburg State University with a degree in Industrial Technology and a Minor in Art. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had an appreciation of the outdoors and dogs of all breeds. When I wasn't skiing or snowboarding during the winter, I was camping and hiking with my dogs in the summer and the fall.
My love of dogs led me to study animal training and behavior, earning a Certificate from Animal Behavior College, and ultimately led me to North Carolina. Since 2017, I have been training dogs and have taught dogs of all breeds and ages. My aim is to help families meet their individual training goals and to help them form lasting bonds with their fuzzy family members.
